Swedish National Space Board (SNSB)

The Swedish National Space Board, SNSB, is a central governmental agency under the Ministry of Education and Research.

SNSB is responsible for national and international activities relating to space and remote sensing, primarily research and development.

SNSB has three main tasks:

  • to distribute government grants for space research, technology development and remote sensing activities
  • to initiate research and development in Space and Remote Sensing areas
  • to act as Swedish contact for international co-operation

The Swedish space programme is carried out by means of extensive international cooperation, in particular through Sweden´s membership of the European Space Agency, ESA.

SNSB's responsability for international activities includes the Swedish involvement in ESA as well as bilateral cooperation within space. Most of the activities funded by the Swedish National Space Board are carried out in cooperation with other countries.

Czech Space Office (CSO)

The Czech Space Office (CSO) is the central contact point for the coordination of pure space science related activities in the Czech Republic.

It fulfils tasks of the national information and advisory centre for the academia on opportunities to enter the international space scene and on space activities in the Czech Republic. It is a non-profit association created in November 2003. The bodies of the association are the Management Board, the Supervisory Board and the Managing Director.

CONIDA, Agencia Espatial del Peru

Agencia Espacial del Peru (CONIDA) is the national space agency of Peru.

CONIDA is responsible for all space related activities of Peru.

The National Commission for Aerospace Research and Development (CONIDA) researches in the field of space science and technology for the benefit of Peru. The research areas of CONIDA include:

  • Propulsion
  • Geomatics
  • Rocketry
  • Astronomy
  • Scientific Instrumentation

Netherlands Space Office

The Netherlands Space Office (NSO) acts as the Dutch agency for space affairs.

The NSO was established by the Dutch government in order to develop the Netherlands' space programme and to bring that programme to action. The NSO is the face of the Dutch space community for international space organisations like ESA, NASA and JAXA as well as the central point of contact for the space community within the Netherlands. The NSO also works to innovatively and openly bring the story of spaceflight science, usage and exploration to teachers, students and the general public.

Ecuadorian Civilian Space Agency (EXA)

The Ecuadorian Civilian Space Agency (EXA) is the organisation in charge of administering and executing the Ecuadorian civilian space program and conducting scientific research on space and planetary sciences.

It is a non-profit NGO with 100% civilian operation capital through private funding and self-sustained. It was established on November 1, 2007 and includes the first Ecuadorian trained astronaut, Ronnie Nader, among its staff members.

Brazilian Space Agency (AEB)

The Brazilian Space Agency (Portuguese: Agência Espacial Brasileira, AEB) is the civilian authority in Brazil responsible for Brazil space program.

It operates a spaceport at Alcântara and a rocket launch site at Barreira do Inferno. The agency has given Brazil a leading role in space in Latin America and has made Brazil a valuable and dependable partner for cooperation in the International Space Station.

KazCosmos

The National Space Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also known as KazCosmos, or KazKosmos, is Kazakhstan's national space agency, and was officially established on March 27, 2007.

KazSat 1: The previous year, on June 18, 2006, the communications satellite KazSat 1 was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome, marking the beginning of Kazakhstan's independent space program. In 2008 communications with the satellite ended, and it was declared lost.

KazSat 2: The next planned satellite, KazSat 2, has experienced a series of delays, but was launched on July 16th 2011 on board a Proton rocket. KazSat 2 was built by Krunichev and Thales Alenia Space Italy.

KazSat 3: KazCosmos signed also the contract with ISS-Reshetnev and Thales Alenia Space Italy on June 21st 2011 for the third telecommunications satellite, named KazSat 3.

INTA - Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial

INTA is Spain's space agency.

It was founded in 1942, as the Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeronáutica (National Institute of Aeronautics), and has its headquarters in Torrejón de Ardoz, near Madrid, Spain.
