ESA’s Navigation Innovation and Support Programme (NAVISP) aims to cultivate European and Canadian industrial capacities while pioneering the advancement of novel positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies and systems.
After a record participation at last year's edition in London, the 6th edition of the NAVISP Industry Days offers a unique forum for both established leaders and emerging innovators within the global PNT ecosystem. This edition also marks the 10th year of NAVISP since the start of the programme.
This year’s edition, held under the theme "Between Science and Art", will take place in the inspiring setting of Università La Sapienza’s Aula Magna, presided by its iconic mural “Italy between the Arts and Science” of modernist painter Mario Sironi.
"Throughout history, navigation has been considered both as much an art as a science. It is an art because of the creativity and skills required to avoid the dangers of navigation at sea, and it is a science because it relies on instruments grounded in scientific principles,” says Rafael Lucas, Head of ESA's NAVISP Programme.
Over two days, participants will gain insight into the Agency’s NAVISP programme, engage in in-depth discussions, share ideas, and have networking opportunities with key actors shaping the future of PNT.
On the first day, key notes and panels will focus on Resilient PNT, PNT for Ports and Underwater.
On the second day, the event will focus on unmanned operations, eLoran and other complementary PNT and Indoor PNT.
The event encourages collaboration between well-established companies, SMEs and newcomers across Europe and Canada, welcoming participants from across the entire PNT value chain, from upstream innovators such as satellite manufacturers, PNT equipment developers, and sensor technology providers to downstream companies leveraging these technologies in transformative applications.
Participation is free of charge.
