Stay space chemical compliant in the EU

ESA's REACH workshop on hazardous chemicals helps the space industry stay compliant with EU regulations

On 2 June, the European Space Agency (ESA) will hold its free REACH workshop on chemical compliance in the space sector. This all-day event will be held at ESA’s technical centre in the Netherlands, with an option to join online.

The European space sector is facing increasing pressure from evolving chemical regulations, supply chain disruptions, and material obsolescence risks. EU regulations such as REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals) can have a significant impact on the availability and qualification of materials, processes, and products used across space programmes. This workshop supports the European space community in navigating these challenges.

The workshop is free of charge and open to participants from industry, agencies, research organisations, and academia. Participants can register to attend either on site or online.

The ESA REACH Workshop has become an established forum for discussing the impact of chemical regulations on the space sector, while fostering coordination between agencies, industry, and regulatory stakeholders. A broad international audience is expected, including representatives from ESA, national space agencies, institutional partners, and the European space supply chain.
