OroraTech has expanded its Series B funding round to euro 37 million, with significant support from BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund and Rabo Ventures, alongside continued backing from Bayern Kapital, Edaphon, and the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund (ECBF).
With a fleet of ten satellites already operational, OroraTech provides the most continuous and extensive thermal data stream available, empowering the creation of a digital wildfire twin of the Earth. This advanced system offers 24/7 global wildfire monitoring and future fire behavior simulation, transforming raw thermal data into actionable insights.
Martin Langer, CEO and CTO of OroraTech, noted, "We are executing on a rare window of opportunity - where our scalable space infrastructure meets breakthrough AI. The backing of two of Europe's leading banks is a testimony to OroraTech's position at the forefront of the market, and will further drive our growth as the foundational thermal intelligence provider for many industries and governments worldwide."
Lucas Guillet, Investment Director at BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund, added, "We are pleased to support OroraTech, which has established a strong reputation in the space industry and wildfire management ecosystem. Their ability to design and operate nano-satellites, as well as interpret complex data, has contributed to the commercial success of their Wildfire Intelligence solution. Our network along with Rabobank offers a promising chance to support solutions that can improve forest protection globally, a mission that aligns perfectly with our fund's investment thesis."
Shishir Sinha, Executive Director at Rabo Ventures, emphasized the critical need for such technology, stating, "The increasing intensity and frequency of wildfires poses a significant threat to our planet, emitting billions of tons of CO2 annually, driving biodiversity loss, and diminishing the overall resilience of our ecosystems. As a bank with exposure to forestry and rural sectors, we recognize the urgent need to address these risks. We at Rabo Ventures are excited to back Martin and the team at OroraTech, who have developed a globally scalable wildfire intelligence platform which is already delivering value to stakeholders across Australia, Europe and the Americas."
Over the past year, OroraTech has secured nearly euro 100 million in commercial contracts and venture capital, reinforcing its position as a trusted provider of real-time, space-based wildfire intelligence. Its Wildfire Solution platform is designed to assess risk, detect outbreaks, and predict the spread of forest fires globally.
