ClearSpace has commenced the consolidation phase of its GEO Life Extension Mission. Backed by the Government of Luxembourg and supported by an ESA contract under the Luxembourg National Space Programme LuxIMPULSE, which is implemented by the Luxembourg Space Agency, this initiative represents a major operational milestone.
The mission underscores ClearSpace's steadfast commitment to sustainable space operations by addressing the challenge of aging satellites. The plan involves docking with and extending the operational life of GEO satellites that are due for retirement between 2028 and 2030, advancing the company's broader vision for in-orbit servicing.
Financially, ClearSpace has secured robust support with significant investments from OTB Ventures and the Luxembourg Future Fund. A recent Series A+ funding round raised euro 5.5 million, increasing total capital to euro 36 million and further enabling the company to pioneer innovations in space sustainability.
The mission further highlights Luxembourg's influential role in advancing space technology, benefitting from ongoing collaboration with the European Space Agency. ClearSpace is enthusiastic about its continued growth and success as it works alongside both public and private partners to address global challenges and reshape the future of space operations.
