The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) has chosen GMV, a multinational technology leader, to develop a new iteration of the High Accuracy Data Generator (HADG) as part of Phase 2 of the Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS). This service, which is a global pioneer, provides free real-time positioning corrections to all users. GMV was also responsible for the first version of the HADG, which currently supports the Initial Service (Phase 1) of the HAS.
Under the terms of the new contract, which spans up to 45 months and has a budget of up to 12 million euros, GMV will handle the design, development, deployment, commissioning support, and optional maintenance of the enhanced HADG. This upgraded version will integrate additional functionalities to support Phase 2 (Full Service) of the HAS.
The improved HAS data generator will include the following features:
+ Enhanced Service Level 1 (SL1) Performance: By deploying an updated version of GMV's magicPPP algorithms for precise correction calculations and expanding the ground station network, the SL1 service will achieve global coverage and improved accuracy and availability.+ New Service Level 2 (SL2): This regional service, exclusive to Europe, will provide atmospheric corrections that significantly reduce the convergence time needed for maximum accuracy at the user level.
+ Authentication of HAS Corrections: A new feature will authenticate corrections transmitted via the Galileo constellation, enhancing user security and confidence.
GMV's Leadership Role
Since 2020, GMV has led the development of the Galileo HAS data generator after securing the first contract with EUSPA. The operational launch of Galileo HAS in January 2023 marked a major advancement in positioning services, offering unprecedented accuracy for applications in navigation, agriculture, geodesy, and autonomous driving. In this new phase, GMV will continue as the main contractor, leading an industrial consortium that includes the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) for atmospheric modeling and Sidertia for cybersecurity expertise."The new contract to evolve the Galileo HAS service consolidates GMV's commitment to technological excellence and its leadership capacity in key projects for Europe.
