SES Space and Defense, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SES, has secured a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) worth up to $117 million. Awarded through Space Systems Command (SSC) with support from the United States Space Force's Commercial Satellite Communications Office (CSCO), the agreement aims to enhance satellite communication capabilities for the United States European Command (USEUCOM).
The BPA enables SES Space and Defense to provide multi-orbit, multi-band satellite solutions tailored to the mission demands within the USEUCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). Collaborating with top industry partners, the company will offer managed services utilizing UHF, L, C, X, Ku, and Mil-Ka bands. These services will be supported by Risk Management Framework-accredited commercial teleport and terrestrial transport backhaul systems, ensuring connectivity to Government Entry Points (GEP).
Additionally, SES Space and Defense will deliver program management services, bandwidth allocation, and network monitoring. The agreement also includes provisions for ancillary equipment, such as remote Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSATs), to enhance operational flexibility.
"This BPA will accelerate access to acquiring COMSATCOM services for the DoD in the USEUCOM Area of Responsibility region," said David Fields, President and CEO of SES Space and Defense. "To support the DoD needs, we have assembled a team comprised of the best in the industry to deliver multi-band, multi-orbit COMSATCOM capabilities that provide alternate SATCOM paths for greater network resiliency and flexibility required to achieve mission success."
