Maxar Intelligence has been chosen by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to support its Luno A program, a $290 million, five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract. This initiative aims to deliver advanced geospatial insights and automated object detections using Maxar's cutting-edge capabilities.

Through the Luno A contract, Maxar will deploy its sophisticated computer vision models to provide precise object detections and actionable analytics. These services are powered by the company's high-resolution electro-optical commercial satellite imagery and a 20-year archive of geospatial data. Together, these resources uniquely position Maxar to meet the operational requirements of the NGA.

"Our very-high resolution imagery and massive data library give us a unique edge to meet Luno A's need for fast, accurate insights," said Susanne Hake, General Manager, U.S. Government at Maxar. "As we continue launching more WorldView Legion satellites, we'll have significantly more 30 cm-class imaging capacity and increased revisits, providing us with an even deeper pool of exquisite data that can fuel more actionable insights in near real-time."

The NGA awarded this contract to 10 commercial vendors, including Maxar, underlining the importance of partnerships in advancing geospatial data analysis at scale. These collaborations enhance the NGA's ability to monitor vehicles, aircraft, vessels, infrastructure, and changes to the terrain while tracking patterns of life and economic indicators.

Maxar has already commenced its contributions under the Luno A agreement, providing critical tools and insights to aid NGA analysts and operators in addressing global challenges.
