The rising demand for space-based insights to bolster industries, environmental efforts, security, and global communities has fueled nations' interest in building their own launch capabilities.
Fire Arrow, headquartered in Scotland with international operations, is advancing its efforts to meet this demand by facilitating the development of licensed global launch sites. The company specializes in guiding clients through technical and business assessments and the complete lifecycle of spaceport projects, from feasibility to design, construction, and licensed operations. Partnering with prominent organizations, Fire Arrow has formed a consortium model that supports governments and commercial entities in achieving secure and economical space access. The company recently marked progress by signing an Expression of Interest with Malaysia's Gading Group for an Asian horizontal spaceport project and actively participating in international events such as the International Astronautical Congress.
In its latest strategic move, Fire Arrow has partnered with NORR, a globally recognized architectural and engineering firm with a portfolio spanning 12 sectors, including Space, Transportation, and Defence. NORR, known for its expertise in sustainable infrastructure, brings extensive experience from projects in the UK and operates offices across Canada, the US, the UK, and the UAE.
NORR will contribute to Fire Arrow's projects by delivering architectural and design services. Kevin Stephen, Director at NORR, emphasized, "NORR aims to further establish ourselves as an industry leader in spaceport projects. As architect and lead designer for two spaceports in Scotland, we have significant experience and knowledge of both vertical and horizontal launch facilities, including the integration of horizontal launch spaceports into operational airports."
Stephen added, "With over 60 years in the airport sector, we possess detailed knowledge of airport design and the associated physical and security requirements. Our experience includes managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects while adhering to strict regulations. Our commitment to sustainable, low-carbon design is integrated into every project we undertake."
He concluded, "The Fire Arrow team shares our dedication to pioneering sustainable spaceport development. We are excited to collaborate with them on future endeavors."
NORR's successful work on Scottish spaceports has equipped the firm with the ability to address challenges such as population proximity and on-site propellant management. This expertise enhances their capacity to manage vertical and horizontal spaceport operations.
Dr. Mick O'Connor, Managing Director at Fire Arrow, remarked, "We are delighted to further our relationship with NORR. Having collaborated on past projects, our partnership is built on mutual trust and respect. We are currently pursuing multiple global spaceport projects, and NORR's design expertise strengthens our consortium's capabilities."
The partnership signifies a growing trend in space industry collaboration across different sectors, emphasizing innovation and sustainable growth. Both companies are committed to driving progress and elevating the field of space launch services.
