OKI (TOKYO: 6703) has received an order to produce units for satellites being developed by Astroscale Japan Inc., a subsidiary of Astroscale Holdings Inc. Known for its expertise in satellite servicing and promoting orbital sustainability, Astroscale has tasked OKI with delivering these units following evaluations of both test and sample units. OKI boasts a strong background in providing products for space equipment through its manufacturing services, also known as "space quality" EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services). These services cover printed circuit boards (PCBs) certified by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and encompass tasks such as designing and manufacturing components, conducting reliability assessments, failure analysis, and unit assembly.

In fulfilling this new order, OKI will ensure a steady supply of high-quality products from its Japanese production bases, utilizing its well-regarded space production technology. OKI is also prepared to accommodate future demand increases, modifications, and repairs, all while continuing to strengthen its standing in the growing space sector, with an eye on expanding its EMS business.
