Parry Labs has secured a Direct to Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from the U.S. Space Force (USSF) as part of its "Digital Spaceport of the Future" challenge. This initiative focuses on enhancing spaceport operations with cutting-edge digital solutions.
Out of over 150 submitted proposals, Parry Labs was one of 12 companies chosen for this contract, issued through SpaceWERX, the USSF's innovation branch. This selection highlights the company's pivotal role in supporting the digital transformation of U.S. military space activities.
Parry Labs will deliver a comprehensive solution for establishing a standardized operating environment across spaceports, built around a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) architecture. This system will allow Launch Service Providers (LSPs) to perform offsite pre-integration, simulation, and independent verification and validation (IV&V), reducing operational risks and shortening mission timelines.
"We are proud to be selected by the U.S. Space Force to help advance the next generation of spaceport operations," said Thomas von Eschenbach, Senior Vice President of Air and Space at Parry Labs. "Our MOSA expertise is at the core of this effort to provide the Space Force with the agility, interoperability, and security necessary to meet their ambitious digital transformation goals."
The solution aims to create a unified, secure, and automated data environment for U.S. spaceports, ensuring smooth operations across different locations. By incorporating advanced digital engineering methods, Parry Labs will show how spaceports can support simultaneous launches, inter-range collaboration in real-time, and zero-trust security at lower costs.
Key outcomes of this project include increased launch capacity, improved operational readiness, and a cost-effective approach to future spaceport modernization. Parry Labs will also help define a framework for a fully integrated data ecosystem, enabling low-risk, rapid space missions.
