Apex Space, a spacecraft bus platform manufacturer based in Los Angeles, has introduced its latest product, the GEO Aries satellite bus, designed for geostationary orbit (GEO) missions. The company plans to begin delivering the GEO Aries buses to customers starting in 2026.

GEO Aries is an enhanced version of Apex's existing Aries bus platform, engineered to meet the specific needs of GEO missions such as communications, imaging, and other related applications. The platform reflects the company's ongoing commitment to addressing the objectives of its customers by releasing the GEO Aries bus platform.

The base model of the GEO Aries is currently available for purchase through Apex's online configuration platform. Apex also plans to introduce new configuration packages soon, offering customers a broader range of options to fulfill various mission requirements. The platform has already attracted significant interest, including initial sales to U.S. government customers.

"Apex has been moving full speed in 2024, including the first successful launch of our Aries platform and strong customer demand for both Aries and Nova. Now that we have moved into our new, state-of-the-art factory, we are thrilled to introduce our first satellite bus designed for a GEO environment, GEO Aries. GEO Aries leverages the heritage of the Aries bus platform, offering the world's first productized GEO satellite bus," said Ian Cinnamon, CEO of Apex. "I'm proud of our team, which continues to innovate and push boundaries to manufacture a new satellite bus that will enable critical missions for our growing number of communications and space sensing customers."

Apex's innovative approach to satellite bus productization has established a solid foundation for its business. The addition of GEO Aries, the first productized bus specifically designed for GEO missions, strengthens the company's expanding product lineup, which includes the Aries platform that successfully launched on March 4, 2024. As the only manufacturer offering truly productized satellite buses, Apex remains dedicated to accelerating customers' access to space and will continue to scale production to meet increasing demand. Earlier this year, Apex secured a funding round led by XYZ Venture Capital and CRV to expand production capacity in response to customer interest.
