Space Perspective, the world's first carbon-neutral spaceflight experience company, has announced the completion and arrival of Marine Spaceport (MS) Voyager, the world's only marine spaceport for human spaceflight, to its home base in Florida. In collaboration with Guice Offshore, the 294-foot vessel is outfitted for launch and retrieval operations, positioning Space Perspective as the first space travel company to offer marine-based global launch experiences.

MS Voyager's innovative and patented launch system utilizes a series of rollers that work together to maneuver balloons upright on the vessel's 200-foot deck. This design significantly reduces the launch footprint compared to traditional balloon launches, eliminating the need for an aircraft carrier.

Taber MacCallum, Space Perspective Founder and co-CEO, commented: "The capability to launch and retrieve the Neptune capsule at sea creates worldwide scalability along with an unprecedented closure of the routine operations safety case. We are proud to bring a new spaceflight capability to Port Canaveral and the Space Coast."

Named in honor of the Voyager 1 Space Probe mission, MS Voyager is equipped with Dynamic Positioning, four engines, and four generators, making it highly maneuverable. Designed for launching and retrieving Spaceship Neptune, MS Voyager features a Mission Control on the bridge and extensive capsule support equipment for both pre-flight and post-flight operations. The vessel's role is crucial to the success of Space Perspective's missions, with two years dedicated to installing advanced machinery specifically for space launches.

Spaceship Neptune's pressurized capsule will gently land in the water, where fast boats will stabilize it before it is lifted onto MS Voyager using a custom-built, 52-foot A-frame - the largest purpose-built space capsule retrieval A-frame. This water landing method, used since the Apollo era and by SpaceX, ensures a safe return to Earth, leveraging the expertise of Space Perspective's team of former SpaceX and NASA launch and retrieval specialists.

MS Voyager's adaptability as a mobile marine spaceport offers Space Perspective Explorers unique opportunities to witness Earth's landscapes from space. Its global mobility allows for flexible scheduling, more frequent launches, and visits to diverse locations, fostering an appreciation for our planet's beauty and fragility. The spaceport's design ensures safe and efficient operations by minimizing wind impact, creating life-changing experiences for a broader audience, as astronauts have attested.
