USPACE Technology Group Limited ("USPACE" [1725.HK]) has announced the launch of six new commercial optical satellites and related aerospace products. The Group aims to tap into the global market and attract more customers, focusing on the growing demand from emerging markets and SMEs. This marks a significant step in USPACE's efforts toward satellite mass production and commercialization, furthering its globalization strategy.
On July 25, 2024, coinciding with the first anniversary of the ASPACE Hong Kong Satellite Manufacturing Center, the Group revealed its competitively priced commercial optical satellites on its official website. These satellites, offering resolutions from 5 meters to 0.5 meters, are priced between USD35,000 and USD990,000. Notably, the high-resolution 0.5-meter satellite is available for USD990,000. Additionally, USPACE plans to offer a range of satellite components and application services, including separation seats, multi-satellite dispensers, and lightweight cameras with 0.5-meter resolution.
The Group believes that these new satellite products will enhance its participation in the global commercial aerospace market, boost brand recognition, expand its customer base, and increase market share.
The commercial optical satellite market is poised for substantial growth. Emerging technologies like the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence are driving the demand for satellite remote sensing data, communication services, and navigation and positioning. The introduction of competitively priced commercial optical satellites is expected to lower entry barriers for various satellite applications, unlocking market potential and creating significant commercial value.
In July 2023, USPACE completed the construction of its 20,000-square-meter ASPACE Hong Kong Satellite Manufacturing Center, the first of its kind in the city. The center can develop multiple satellite types, including communication, navigation, remote sensing, and radar satellites ranging from 10 kilograms to 1,000 kilograms, with an annual production capacity of 500 satellites.
USPACE continues to advance its globalization strategy, working towards building a comprehensive aerospace ecosystem while innovating and developing core satellite products.
