NASA has unveiled two significant white papers as part of its Moon to Mars architecture initiatives. These documents, focusing on lunar mobility drivers and lunar surface cargo, outline NASA's recent strategies for lunar exploration.

While NASA consistently publishes annual updates on its Moon to Mars architecture, the agency also provides mid-cycle reports to share vital insights with stakeholders.

"Lunar Mobility Drivers and Needs" examines the requirements for moving cargo and equipment across the lunar surface, from landing sites to operational areas, highlighting key factors affecting mobility systems.

"Lunar Surface Cargo" evaluates current and future needs, pinpointing existing gaps in capabilities for transporting cargo to the lunar surface.

NASA's Moon to Mars architecture integrates feedback from U.S. industry, academia, international partners, and NASA's workforce. Typically, the agency releases a series of technical documents at the conclusion of its annual review cycle, including updates to the Architecture Definition Document and white papers on frequently discussed topics.

As part of NASA's Artemis campaign, the agency aims to lay the groundwork for long-term lunar scientific exploration, land the first woman, first person of color, and first international partner astronaut on the Moon, and prepare for human missions to Mars.
