This inaugural two-day event, a collaborative effort among the CNSA, the Foreign Ministry, and the government of Hubei province, is scheduled to begin on April 24, which is celebrated as China's Space Day. The forum will include an opening ceremony, the main forum, and four detailed symposiums, detailed Lyu Bo, a CNSA spokesperson, during a press briefing held at the agency's headquarters.

The primary focus of the forum will be on the role of space cooperation in advancing socioeconomic growth. The symposiums will explore several areas such as deep-space exploration, space science, and the promotion of innovation-led development in the space sector, added Lyu.

The forum expects to welcome nearly 100 delegates from 26 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, in addition to representatives from eight international bodies.

The goal of the forum, Lyu noted, is to enhance space collaboration with the regions, bolster aerospace initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean, strengthen the bonds between China and the participating nations, and support the creation of a communal future for China and these regions.

The gathering aligns with a range of activities planned in Wuhan to mark the ninth annual celebration of China's Space Day, commemorating the historic launch of China's first satellite, Dongfanghong 1, on a Long March 1 rocket on April 24, 1970, establishing China among the global leaders capable of deploying satellites into Earth orbit.
