Q-Tech Corporation, a prominent provider of space-qualified crystal oscillators and high-performance frequency control systems, has unveiled the AXTAL AXIOM75Sx Series oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXOs). These are specifically engineered for high-performance timing and frequency generation in low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite applications.

The AXIOM75Sx Series, developed by Q-Tech's German affiliate, AXTAL, offers ultra-low phase noise across a frequency range from 10 MHz to 400 MHz, meeting the stringent demands of New Space projects. These devices stand out for their exceptional phase noise characteristics and robust radiation hardness, suitable for various aerospace applications.

The series boasts key specifications such as radiation tolerance up to 50 kRad(Si) total ionizing dose, immunity to single event latch-up, and insensitivity to single-event transients. These features ensure reliability and performance in the challenging conditions of space. Additionally, the oscillators provide excellent frequency stability, less than +/-50 ppb over temperature, and a phase noise floor of -180dBc/Hz at a 100 kHz offset, all within hermetically sealed enclosures.

Henry Halang, AXTAL's Managing Director, emphasized the critical need for cost-effective, commercial off-the-shelf products in today's LEO applications, noting the series' leading phase noise performance and radiation tolerance.

Since its founding in 1972, Q-Tech has been at the forefront of delivering advanced solutions for military, aerospace, and other high-reliability industries. The company's recent acquisition of Axtal GmbH and Co KG integrates robust European engineering and manufacturing capabilities into its portfolio.
