Sidus Space, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIDU), a pioneering Space and Data-as-a-Service satellite firm, has achieved a significant milestone by establishing two-way communications with its innovative 3D-printed satellite, LizzieSat. This achievement underscores Sidus' commitment to advancing earth observation and remote sensing capabilities through Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (Geo-AI).

LizzieSat, a marvel of modern engineering, leverages Markforged's Onyx FR-A material, a flame-retardant substance that combines metal-like strength with significant reductions in cost, weight, and production time. The satellite's bus structure is produced through a hybrid, 3D-printing process, with the full manufacturing cycle, including printing and assembly, anticipated to be completed within 45 days. Following the successful deployment of its first satellite, Sidus plans to launch two more LizzieSats by year-end.

Carol Craig, CEO and Founder of Sidus, highlighted the strategic importance of LizzieSats to the company's Data-as-a-Service business model. The fusion of rapid 3D printing, multi-sensor data collection, and on-orbit AI processing positions Sidus to enhance its satellite constellation for superior data collection and analysis, offering a competitive advantage in the industry.

LizzieSat's innovative design permits the integration of various sensors for simultaneous data acquisition, facilitating applications in agriculture, maritime, oil, and gas sectors, among others. These sensors encompass hyperspectral and multispectral imaging, automatic identification system (AIS), and optical technologies. Moreover, the satellite is equipped with Sidus' proprietary FeatherEdge AI, enabling near real-time processing of imagery and sensor data for actionable intelligence.
