In a significant stride toward revolutionizing global broadband connectivity, Avanti Communications has announced a strategic partnership with Telesat (NASDAQ and TSX: TSAT), a leading name in satellite services. This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), is set to spearhead the development and testing of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) services, marking a pivotal component of Avanti's ambitious multi-orbit strategy aimed at delivering custom, scalable solutions to its clientele.

Under this groundbreaking agreement, Avanti plans to incorporate Telesat's Lightspeed services into its network. This move is poised to enhance the availability of affordable, high-quality broadband connectivity across the globe. Telesat's Lightspeed network, a constellation of 198 cutting-edge LEO satellites, is designed to work in seamless harmony with terrestrial networks, setting a new benchmark in the satellite service industry.

Avanti is no stranger to innovation and strategic growth, having heavily invested in partnerships and managed services to cater to the ever-evolving demands of the industry. The burgeoning need for more capacity has led Avanti to embrace this first-of-its-kind low-latency LEO constellation agreement. This strategy, fundamentally rooted in a "customer pull" versus "technology push" model, aims to tailor solutions that meet individual customer needs with unprecedented precision.

The essence of this collaboration will be to optimally serve the critical connectivity demands of Avanti's enterprise and government customers. With the operational launch of the Telesat Lightspeed constellation anticipated in 2027, the partnership is expected to usher in a new era of connectivity solutions that promise high performance, reliability, and unparalleled quality of service.

Toby Robinson, Avanti's Chief of Strategy and Business Development, emphasized the transformative journey of Avanti towards becoming a customer-led enterprise. "Avanti has already transformed into a customer-led business and will now embark on the next phase of its journey to meet customers' requirements with multi-orbit solutions tailored to individual needs. The Telesat Lightspeed service will specifically target our enterprise and government customers, enabling us to deliver on our commitment to cater to the most complex requirements while maintaining the high performance, reliability and quality of service our customers expect," Robinson stated.

Echoing the enthusiasm, Glenn Katz, Chief Commercial Officer at Telesat, highlighted the mutual benefits and innovations the partnership brings. "We are delighted to work with partners like Avanti, who recognize the unique value and innovation that Telesat Lightspeed provides for resilient, global connectivity. Integration of Avanti's EMEA terrestrial infrastructure into the Telesat Lightspeed network provides promising synergies and optimizations for both organizations," Katz remarked.

Further cementing this partnership, the agreement also explores the integration of Avanti's extensive terrestrial infrastructure, including landing stations, Points of Presences (PoPs), terrestrial connectivity, and site hosting and management services, into the Telesat Lightspeed satellite network. This integration signifies a strategic move towards creating a global terrestrial infrastructure that seamlessly merges with Telesat's state-of-the-art LEO satellite network.
