LeoLabs, a leader in space situational awareness and satellite tracking, has been selected for the U.S. Space System Command's (SSC) prestigious Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Technology Accelerator Program (TAP) Lab. This selection underscores the critical role of continuous space monitoring in securing space domains and highlights LeoLabs' unique position in providing all-weather, round-the-clock radar coverage of low Earth orbit (LEO).

Dan Ceperley, CEO of LeoLabs, emphasized the importance of maintaining a vigilant watch over space to prevent surprises and ensure security. "As the commercial leader in all-weather, 24/7 radar coverage of low Earth orbit, we're uniquely positioned to leverage the millions of data points we receive daily to build powerful AI tools that continuously monitor, characterize, and alert anomalous space activity," Ceperley stated. He further expressed enthusiasm about showcasing these AI-driven tools during the TAP Lab, highlighting their potential to enhance space domain awareness significantly.

The three-month TAP Lab cycle will allow LeoLabs to further refine its solutions tailored for SDA challenges. This includes testing and enhancing the company's capabilities in object characterization, maneuver detection, non-cooperative launch tracking, and patterns-of-life analysis, alongside its management dashboards. These solutions are critical for responding effectively to scenarios related to threat warning and assessment, showcasing LeoLabs' comprehensive approach to space safety and security.

Since its inception in 2016, LeoLabs has played a transformative role in space operations. The company has enhanced the visibility of over 20,000 objects in LEO, establishing a virtual global space operations center that operates 24/7. This center processes millions of object measurements daily, converting them into crucial insights for both commercial and government space operators. The insights are pivotal for ensuring space safety, security, and sustainability.

A key element of LeoLabs' operational success is its global network of 10 radars. This network provides unparalleled coverage of space activities across the Southern Hemisphere, Northern Hemisphere, and Equator. By doing so, LeoLabs ensures comprehensive monitoring capabilities, essential for the proactive management of space traffic and the mitigation of collision risks.
