Earth Explorer 11 User Consultation Meeting - Day 1 live
On 10-11 October, the Earth observation science community is gathering in Bucharest, Romania, to discuss the merits of four competing candidate research missions: Cairt, Nitrosat, Seastar, and Wivern. These candidate satellite missions are vying to be selected for the next stage of preparation en-route to becoming ESA’s eleventh Earth Explorer mission. During the two days of the User Consultation Meeting, the science and technical teams will present the Earth science behind each of the candidate missions and how this will be unlocked by each respective mission concept. The livestream from the meeting represents an opportunity to learn more about the science behind these new mission ideas and their preparation within ESA’s FutureEO programme. Further information about the User Consultation Meeting and each candidate mission can be found at the event website. Earth Explorers are pioneering research missions that employ new observing techniques that can lead to new scientific findings about planet Earth. Advancing science and technology, they address questions that have direct bearings on societal issues such as the availability of food, water, energy and resources, public health, weather and climate change. Follow the discussions live on Tuesday 10 October and Wednesday 11 October. Streaming starts at 08:00 CEST on both days, and ends at 15:45 CEST on Wednesday 11 October.
