Before the science team says "OK TO GO!," today's plan involves getting one of the last looks at the rocks right below the Greenheugh Pediment, some observations at the contact between them, and some higher up on Gediz-Vallis Ridge.
The rover will collect two APXS measurements on "Galdenoch," one a brushed location and another offset from it, including some MAHLI images (see image) to document the textures there.
Right next to it is target "Glendouran" which we'll collect Mastcam and ChemCam to further document the outcrop.
Another target, "Gala Group," uses Mastcam and ChemCam RMI to peer at the geologic contact between the two main units.
The last bedrock target is on Gediz Vallis Ridge with a Mastcam mosaic to help document its stratigraphy.
Finally, some Mastcam imaging on "The Souter" for change detection in some local ripples. There's also a series of atmospheric observations: Navcam superhorizon, line-of-site, and dust devil survey.

Rocky Road offers plenty of tasty science bites during Sols 3391-3394
Pasadena CA (JPL) Feb 23, 2022
MSL planning was met with beautiful images of our path ahead, like this one. We ended up planning to look at many of these rocks with our science instruments before driving on. This is a busy plan, covering four sols due to the holiday on Monday. In order to keep things manageable, especially given that our uplink is early tonight, we are doing all of our activities on the last 3 sols of the plan and leaving the first sol fairly empty. On the second and third sols of the plan we are doing an exten ... read more
