ARTES is ESA's (European Space Agency) long-running, large-scale program to support the development of advanced satcom products and services. The ARTES program facilitates research and development activities as well as providing a framework for partnerships within the industry with goal of contributing to the development of European and Canadian industries. It assists them in the development of advanced technologies and concepts that form the basis for competitive products and services.

Satellite communications is the economic engine of the space industry, accounting for two thirds of overall space industry revenue. Worldwide data traffic is estimated to grow 800% by 2019, making broadband and data communications services leading growth segments. ESA’s Directorate of Telecommunications and Integrated Applications (TIA) keeps European and Canadian industry at the leading edge of this fiercely competitive global market by nurturing innovation. 1) 2) 3) 4)

Through ESA’s support, industry can pursue research and development that would otherwise not be economically viable. Growing new space-enabled applications and services stimulates the wider economy, creating new business and jobs across almost every sector.

e2E Service Ltd

e2E Services Limited (“e2E”) provides systems engineering, technical support and expertise to a number of clients in the satellite communications Industry. Our services are provided across the full system lifecycle (i.e. end-to–end – e2E).

Service

The sister company e2E Satcom Limited, is addressing the use of innovative technology that is concentrated on supporting connectivity options across traditional satellite communication systems as well as unmanned aerial systems (UAS), High Altitude Platforms (HAP) and nano-satellite platforms.

Engineering capabilities being provided by e2E support the fundamental pillars of exemplary technical project management, communication systems engineering, system verification and service readiness. Whilst satellite communication remains our key focus, support to terrestrial, wireless and cellular systems continues to be served on request as does non-satellite space missions.

e2E strives to maintain and protect its reputation of independence, flexibility and pragmatism – all elements of which are considered essential for addressing complex and challenging scenarios. Always appreciating the “bigger picture” behind a market, programme or system ensures we do not lose sight of the commercial objectives whilst engaging diligently at the detailed level.

We have an impressive record of successfully completed assignments that are captured through case studies and demonstrations. These cover a range of satellite constellations and communication services including GEO, MEO and LEO missions.

e2E works efficiently on behalf of our clients and to an exceptionally high standard. Whether supplying subject matter experts, engineering core system/software components or delivering test related services, e2E is a credible option to any Organisation involved in space related systems and communications technology. MUOS satellites

The Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) is an array of geosynchronous satellites being developed for the United States Department of Defense (DoD) to provide global satellite communications (SATCOM) narrowband (64 kbit/s and below) connectivity for communications use by the United States and allies.

The MUOS System is an Ultra High Frequency (UHF) (300 MHz to 3 GHz frequency range) SATCOM system, primarily serving the DoD. The MUOS will replace the legacy UHF Follow-On (UFO) system, before that system reaches its end of life, to provide users with new capabilities and enhanced mobility, access, capacity, and quality of service. Intended primarily for mobile users (e.g. aerial and maritime platforms, ground vehicles, and dismounted soldiers), MUOS will extend users' voice, data, and video communications beyond their lines-of-sight.
The MUOS operates as a global cellular service provider to support the war fighter with modern cell phone-like capabilities, such as multimedia. It converts a commercial third generation (3G) Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) cellular phone system to a military UHF SATCOM radio system using geosynchronous satellites in place of cell towers.
