The Sapienza Consulting Group (Sapienza) is a leading provider of space mission and project support through people, software and services to the institutional and commercial space sector.

Sapienza is split into three main business units: Manpower, ECLIPSE (Space products) and IT Services.

We have been a supplier to the European Space Agency for over 19 years. Our teams of software architects and developers, space engineers and business consultants deliver services and solutions from our offices in The UK, The Netherlands, Italy and France.

MAIN BUSINESS AREAS

MANPOWER
Sapienza specialises in recruiting and deploying at the client facilities, highly qualified and expert personnel to serve the needs of space agencies and commercial space industry players alike.

As a complement to our Manpower service we also provide a range of managed personnel services. These are facilitated from our own offices - typically the office in closest proximity to our client. A dedicated team is deployed to execute the required project activities under the guidance of a local project manager. Typical services include:

  • ECLIPSE implementation and support

For over 19 years Sapienza has supplied key personnel and managed services to support ESA and its industrial partners on several missions and programmes including: ATV, Columbus, Galileo, Exomars, Alphasat, Herschel, Planck, Rosetta, SMOS, GOCE and Meteosat Third Generation (MTG).

ECLIPSE
ECLIPSE is the only web-based, collaborative suite of integrated applications designed with the invaluable experience of space industry professionals for use by European space sector organisations ranging from SMEs all the way to International Agencies.

ECLIPSE helps space-project and mission teams achieving higher efficiency, better control and compliance to the ECSS standards applicable to the performance of activities in key project and business areas such as:

  • Project Management (PM)
  • Product Assurance (PA)
  • Configuration Management (CM)
  • Quality Assurance (QA).

Through its modularity and scalability ECLIPSE can be deployed as one integrated suite of tools or as stand-alone modules. It is an easy to use tool, with a low cost of ownership, operation and support.

The suite currently includes the following modules:

  • DCCM – Document Configuration and Change Management 
  • RID – Review Items of Discrepancy
  • AIM – Action Items Management
  • ICM – Industry Capability Mapping Database
  • EEE (and DCLs Database) - Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical Parts Database
  • eNCTS – Non Conformance Tracking System
  • eRISK – Risk Management

IT SERVICES
Having worked for over 19 years with major European space industry players and agencies such as ESA we understand the requirements for cost-effective, reliable, secure, adaptive IT solutions and services that meet or exceed our customers’ needs. Our IT services offering portfolio comprises of the following:

  • Performance monitoring and management

MAIN SPACE CONTRACTS
Sapienza has been supporting space institutional clients, such as the European Space Agency (ESA) and SRON (Dutch Space Agency), and industrial organisations, such as Thales Alenia Space France and various entities of the OHB Group, providing them with skilled personnel and services, as well as space project oriented software solutions.
