Rocket Lab launches fifth StriX satellite for Synspective
Rocket Lab has launched its 51st Electron rocket, deploying a single satellite into low Earth orbit for Synspective, a Japanese Earth-imaging company.
The mission, named "Owl For One, One For Owl" in reference to Synspective's StriX satellites, which are named after the genus of owls, lifted off at 04:39 a.m., August 3rd NZT (16:39 UTC, August 2nd) from Launch Complex 1, Rocket Lab's priva Artemis II Core Stage Delivered to Kennedy Space Center
NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) core stage arrived at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on July 24, 2024. The 65-meter-long core stage was transported by tugboats and towing vessels, covering a 1,448-kilometer journey from NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans where it was constructed.
In the coming months, NASA teams will integrate the core stage with the mobile launcher and SpaceX launches 23 Starlink satellites; fourth takeoff in week
SpaceX launched 23 Starlink satellites into orbit early Friday morning from the Kennedy Space Center Pad 39A.
The Falcon 9 rocket blasted off at 1 a.m., EDT, with the first stage returning to Earth to stick its Atlantic Ocean landing on the drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas.
SpaceX moved back the launch for nearly an hour into the launch window, which started at 12:19 a.m.
