Webb explores largest star-forming cloud in our galaxy
The NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope has revealed a colourful array of massive stars and glowing cosmic dust in the Sagittarius B2 (Sgr B2) molecular cloud, the most massive and active star-forming region in our Milky Way galaxy.
The dynamic drone-rover duo with a special bond
The martian landscape is not the easiest terrain to get around. Some areas are too rocky for a wheeled rover to cross, and elsewhere a lack of distinctive features in the landscape can cause problems for a camera-based navigation system. For a flying drone, such a navigation issue can mean the difference between a safe landing and a crash. Dielof van Loon, a student from Delft University of Technology, investigated what would happen if the two explorers – rover and drone – teamed up.

NASA Prepares Artemis II Rocket with Crew Upgrades for Lunar Flight
NASA's Artemis II Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, which will send four astronauts on a mission around the Moon next year, has been upgraded with new safety and performance enhancements. While structurally similar to the Artemis I rocket, the latest version incorporates lessons learned from its uncrewed predecessor.
Artemis I proved SLS's precision and strength, with its first flight exce NASA announces 10 new astronaut candidates
NASA announced 10 new astronaut candidates Monday following a rigorous selection process from more than 8,000 candidates.
The new class of candidates will complete two years of training before they're eligible for flight assignments supporting future science and exploration missions to low-Earth orbit, the moon and Mars, a press release said.
The class was welcomed during a cerem NASA Arcstone satellite and spectrometer begin active lunar calibration mission
Commissioning of NASA's Arcstone satellite and spectrometer has been completed, marking the transition to full scientific operations. Launched July 23 on a SpaceX Transporter-14 rideshare mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, the satellite's bus and instrument underwent initial checkouts before activation.
On August 13, Arcstone began recording validated solar and lunar s Simulations reveal origins of globular clusters and uncover hybrid star systems
Scientists have long debated the origins of globular clusters, the universe's ancient and densely packed stellar systems. Now, researchers at the University of Surrey, using advanced simulations, have resolved the centuries-old question and identified an entirely new category of star system.
Globular clusters contain hundreds of thousands to millions of stars orbiting galaxies like the Mil
