Scenes from testing the Aquila engine, designed, built and tested by Isar Aerospace at their engine test site in Esrange, Sweden.
Isar Aerospace finished engine hotfire testing for its Aquila engines in October 2023 by firing an Aquila engine for 260 seconds multiple times – more than it needs to fire for a flight. The test exceeded expectations by firing one of the engines six separate times without refurbishment.
Munich-based Isar Aerospace was supported by ESA’s Business Incubation Centre and previous Boost! contracts in 2020 and 2021. Its Spectrum rocket will be 28 m tall, 2 m in diameter

Over the Moon, one year later Innovative antimicrobial coating by Boeing and Queensland University trialled on ISS
In an ambitious effort to enhance the safety and hygiene of long-term space missions, Boeing, a global aerospace leader, has initiated a groundbreaking project on the International Space Station (ISS). Launched aboard SpaceX's 29th Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) mission, this ISS National Laboratory-sponsored project aims to test the effectiveness and durability of an innovative antimicrobia China's BeiDou and Fengyun Satellites Elevate Global Weather Forecasting Capabilities
In a significant step for space-based weather forecasting, China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) has emerged as a pivotal player. Sun Yueqiang, the director of the Key Laboratory for Space Environment Exploration at the National Space Science Center under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and also the deputy chief designer of the Fengyun-3 satellite, recently shared insights into the s System mimics human muscles to prevent slippage on robotic rovers
In an era where planetary exploration increasingly relies on unmanned rovers, ensuring their safe and effective navigation across challenging extraterrestrial terrains is paramount. This is especially true in environments like Mars or the Moon, where surfaces are often covered with regolith-a fine, loose material that can significantly impair rover mobility. Addressing this challenge, researcher Over 3,000 Rural Base Stations launched in Africa via Intelsat and AMN collaboration
In a significant development in the telecommunications landscape of Africa, Intelsat, a prominent operator of a vast integrated satellite and terrestrial network, has joined forces with Africa Mobile Networks (AMN) to dramatically expand cellular coverage across the continent. Since their collaboration began in 2018, they have successfully deployed over 3,000 rural base satellite antennas in sev Globalsat Group will provide IoT and broadband connectivity solutions over ARSAT's capacity
In a significant advancement for regional telecommunications, Globalsat Group has forged a strategic alliance with ARSAT (Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales Sociedad Anonima), a key player in the Argentine satellite communications sector. This partnership was officially announced last week at the ARSAT teleport in Benavidez, Buenos Aires province, marking the launch of a groundbreaking ReOrbit's Report Highlights Software-First Satellites as Key Growth Drivers in Space Industry
