Sidus Space (NASDAQ: SIDU), a provider of agile space mission support services, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Saturn Satellite Networks, Inc., a leader in GEO satellite systems and reprogrammable payloads, to advance development of the new SBN-X satellite platform. This collaboration is aimed at delivering a next-generation, low-cost, high-performance geostationary communications satellite solution.

The agreement outlines a strategic partnership in which Sidus will contribute to the assembly, integration, and testing of the SBN-X platform at its Cape Canaveral, Florida facilities. Sidus will also provide engineering and manufacturing of mechanical components, as well as sourcing of critical subcomponents for the satellite.

The SBN-X is designed to offer both a 5kW analogue payload and a 100Gbps high-throughput digital payload, targeting commercial and government communications markets. The companies expect the collaboration to expand their capabilities in serving evolving global GEO communications demands.

"We are excited to collaborate with Saturn Satellite Networks on the groundbreaking SBN-X initiative," said Carol Craig, CEO of Sidus Space. "The selection of Sidus as Saturn's partner leverages our proven expertise in spacecraft design, integration, and testing, while aligning with our mission to provide flexible, cost-effective space solutions for commercial and government customers."

"Our partnership with Sidus Space strengthens the foundation of the SBN-X platform, combining their agile manufacturing capabilities with our vision for transforming GEO communications," said Tom Choi, CEO of Saturn Satellite Networks. "Together, we're positioned to rapidly deliver next-generation satellite solutions, at a significantly lower price point, to meet the rapidly evolving demands of expanding global markets."
